Can anyone tell me how to get the same effect as the site has when you hover over the "resume" section.

I realize this site is done in flash but I was wondering if you could get the same fade in and out effect with the external info using css or javascript?

you can mate, id recommend jquery, its really easy to implement, although that is flash you can recreate these with simple ajax using jquery.
Its worth starting at the beginning if you have time but read the documentation.
you wont look back i promise.

any ideas that i can use without having to learn a new programming language?

try that, it's a JS framework (it uses JQuery I think) that makes all kinds of neat transitions... for the position and size it would be fairly basic CSS.

Use jQuery - Very simple. You will give the body of text an ID and link an ID. using the jQuery functions you will say 'onmouseover of link, fade in text.' 'on mouseout fade out'.
If you've ever used jQuery it'll take about ten minutes to set up. If not, its a good time to start using it and this will be a nice lesson.

Maybe try using spry menus - their 'built in' to Dreamweaver, and have some possibilties for effects (fade in/out etc.)

Man, that Salinitro's site sure crashed the shit out of my browser! Froze that Safari up like a motherfucker! Fuckin' browser-freezing web site all up in there. Bullshit.
He thinks he's so special, too. Browser-freezing MoFo, if you ask me!
