I'm godfather to a lovely little boy and it is his 1st Birthday coming up. Kinda stuck on what to get him as have already bought lots of clothes and toys and want something a little more special...
Any Ideas?

Get him soe books, open up a bank account in his name and every time it's his birthday & Christmas deposit $50, by the time he's 16 he'll have some $$$ to pay for his 1st prostitute.

OK, apart from the prostiture part, it's what I did for all my nieces and nephews. They get so much crap from all the other family members, and have so many toys, and gadgets and books and shit, that a bank account and some $ will be appreaciated later down the track.
- Is there a nice way to offer this though as I agree its a good idea but not very fun/interesting?fodcj
- Some bank give you a childrens bankbook that the kid can hold.BannedKappa

Books. Get the little 'un some good books. May I suggest these, they're both by an Northern Irish illustrator called Oliver Jeffers. Lovley illustration, well written and both my niece and nephew loved them when I gave it to em.

If you go with books at all, here is a great Maurice Sendak (!) pop up book:

What about a drawing/illustration? I remember when I was little, one of my father's co-workers made me this big illustration of an anthropomorphic bulldozer (I was big into cars, trucks, and machinery then... as most little guys are), which my parents framed and put up in my room.
I know it's not "exciting", but I think it's cool to give something that can stick around for a while, rather than a game or toy that gets ripped to shreds in a couple of months.

My son just had his 1st this past weekend - we got him a Radio Flyer Wagon (model #22) and books. He loved the wagon...
