Avi. to DVD, what do you use...

Never really got around to it cause I watch all my movies on my computer. Now I got a new dvd player. What program can I use to convert movies to DVD format to be burnt and watched in a dvd player?

ohhh read it the wrong way around... you're probably better off getting a divx dvd player, you'll save yourself a lot of time and hassle. converting movies to dvd takes waaaaay long
- correct. DVD player doesnt play Divx straight up so I am trying to burn it so I can watch on dvd playerIronmonkey

I don't know how to with PC, but with my mac I do this:
- Download iSquint (Do a search, I think they stopped making it)
- Convert the AVI. The program is self explanatory.
- Open iDVD
- Drag and drop the movie into the project
- Burn- Latest iSquint made was 1.5.2 = Free. Convert movies for TV, Computer, or iPod. Awesome simple little app.orangeglue

You can use iDVD, which would be the easier and cheapest. More advanced options would be Adobe Encore or DVD Studio Pro.

with my mac I use just use visualHub and convert the avi to wmv - best quality, then burn

just drop it into Toast set in DVD movie and click burn. he does all the rest
