i don't think its pointless at all, it will slow the process down lots and raise publicity to the cause.

It will end up being a large garden in the middle of a massive terminal. Maybe somewhere people can go outside and smoke. Im sure they will knock everything else down and build round it.

the same thing was done in the past to prevent certain motorways/roads being built.
a plot of land was bought and split into tiny plots that hundreds of people could buy for small amounts of money.
as far as I know it worked in some cases.

nice one! probably the most effective way to stall things. But I do say stall, unfortunately

The attitude to travel has to change. I don't see why they need to expand as we have done pretty well so far have we not we have been expanding and expanding at an alarming rate can't we just say nice, nice, I am pretty good now cheers seems to me the world is doing pretty well without the need for more expansion.

there have been specific clauses placed in planning regulations to overcome this type of protest/intervention but it will be a challenge for BAA in the courts.

Greenpeace will sell it on for a profit or get "compensated:... and will spend the profits on another big daft rainbow boat.

isnt it the case that the crown or government can just tell you to get to f*ck if they want the land you are living on?
theres development going to be happening on edinburghs royal mile (major tourist spot). they want to knock down part of a tenament block and shops to build a new street. the local residents have f*ck all say and will be getting booted out in due course even though they own their own homes.

"We'll stop this from happening even if we have to move in and plant vegetables" - Emma Thompson
The plot is so small in comparison to the whole project, I cant see why they cant be offered nearby land if the are only growing vegetables...
