I was up. Pretty much the entire night last night, due to insomnia as a result of an injury.
As I was sitting here in the dark at 3am, it occurred to me I can't ever recall having a dream about my mom. Not one time I can remember have I dreamed about my mom,
WTF does that mean?
Do normal people dream about their mothers on a regular basis? I guess I just felt this overwhelming sense of guilt, seeing as how she is the most influential and amazing person in my life. We have a great relationship, speak on the phone a few x's/wk and see each other 6x or so/yr. (we live 1000 miles apart).
But what does it mean that I don't dream about her? I feel incredibly guilty. I'm watching her get older and not knowing exactly what to do when she (who is single) cant take care of herself. Fcuk. anyone else trip out over what to do with their parents when they cant take care of themselves?
And no you sick fucks, not anything weirdo freudian shit, just dreams. any dreams. It seems so wrong that I wouldn't dream about my own mother from time to time, or at least anything I can remember. maybe I dont think about her often enough to invade my subconsciousness? fuck! I dunno but its freaking me out I don't include her in my dreams!- Jan 9, 09, 2:41 p.m. – Permalink

I've only ever had 1 or 2 dreams about them, and it involved them not being able to hear me because I was dead. Some of the only dreams I have had that were not lucid.
I wouldn't feel bad about it. Sometimes people do have dreams and don't remember them. Tell her how much you care about her in person and don't worry about anything else.

The relationship that we have with our mother is the most psychologically significant relationship of all. Rarely all good or all bad, our mothers
always invoke powerful emotions. We may dream about our mothers in many different forms. She may be disguised in our dreams, and it is our job to find her in there.

^ the first part of your post I can certainly agree with. and that is exactly why I was so concerned.
The second part is a stretch for me being a staunch pragmatic scientific methody type. However, maybe you're right? I dunno.
I just know I felt really guilty when I came to the sudden conclusion that I hadnt dreamt about my own mother in anything I can remember. It literally scared me. It made me wonder what my true and meaningful relationship was.

i also worry about my mom, but i figure im the one who'll be taking care of her. my siblings aren't going to. hence the corporate job. but i did dream about her, and it wasn't pleasant. lol. but really i dont dream of her often at all. just worry when im awake.

the killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
he took a face from the ancient gallery
and he walked on down the hall
he went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
paid a visit to his brother, and then he
he walked on down the hall, and
and he came to a door...and he looked inside
