Is the Mango Tree still there? How about the Pie2mash place? Has Blake's survived the credit crunch?
Been a while since I was in Camden...
- You mean Mango Room? that's still there.max_prophet

Market on Parkway is meant to be great. Some of the guys who ran Medcalf in Clerkenwell have something to do with it.

There is a great Ethiopian place north of Camden if you wanna venture a bit. It is called Lalibela and is on Fortess road. Nice staff, great food, Ethiopian beer, crazy decorations all over the place.

Oh, Marine Ices just by Chalk Farm tube station does simple, big portions or great Italian and they have great Ice Cream and you can take crazy little kids that run around loads there and no one cares.

^ I found a lot of that food there just tasted quite samey, and because you eat with your hands you end up eating so much fucking Injera (sour flat bread) that you are totally stodged out in 10 minutes.
- about the Ethiopian place in Tufnell.max_prophet
- Yeah, defo stodges you up, but tasty no?sleepyfatso
- pretty tasty yes, and it is cosy.max_prophet

My posh French chef housemate was talking about that Hache place - I've walked past it loads and never really noticed it. I'm trying it next time I;'m down that way.
As a plebby alternative, there's an Americana-themed fast food place at the junction just shy of the lock on the way up from Camden Tube. It's probably not fantastic - but the rare burgers they do there are ok.
But fuckit - go Hache, and let us know how it is.
Otherwise - that JamonJamon place is ok for a bite to eat and there's a half decent Lebanese further up that road, on the left hand side. Terrible decor, pretty good food.

I know the area's got snazzed up in recent years, but I'd still be wary of any of the Stables market-based eateries, like Gilgamesh. They still strike me as cheapo tourist money-plucking venues.
Mind you, that's Camden all over...
- That Gilgamesh place looks fucking awful, total tourist moneymaker. They have a big carved bar, big fucking deal.max_prophet
- yeah that place looks pantssleepyfatso
- I have some 'Jean-Pierre Jeunet' image in mind, of the shitty food stalls below funneling crap up for the massesNairn

Hmmm... Camden Lock, upper walkway on west yard. Place names "Lockside Lounge". Realy nice big burgers (not only...) and great stuf. Nice pub lunch, prices generally looks normal. Downster Lockside Lounge guys got a pretty damn good sandwiches on nice fresh bread. And really good vietnamese soups from Camden Lock Market (street level) entres oposite Gilgamesh (from Camden Lock Place), also pizza slices on the corner next to vietnamese tastes nice.
