- I've asked before, but what camera are you using?mg33
- the dxo-one with these
I just point and click through the sun roof
and hope for clear focused shotsRamanisky2 - Awesome. I gave that a look, but I think I'm going to get a Fuji X70. Just can't decide between X70 and X100T.mg33
- it now allows you to shoot in either auto or manual when not attached to iPhone.
Nice firmware update.Ramanisky2 - whats the real difference other than price?? ... they both shoot 16.3mpRamanisky2
- The X70 has a 28mm 2.8 lens, and no viewfinder. The X100T has a 35mm 2.0 lens.mg33
- Quite a few street-photogrpahy sites love the small size of the X70, it can fit in a pocket unless you're a painted-on jeans wearing hipster.mg33
- The X70 LCD panel is also a touch screen - you can even focus by touching a focus point on it. It's a swivel out screen too, which I'm not a fan ofmg33
- but for street / candid shots, I think that could be really nice.mg33
- ahhh I see ... very cool thanks
I think one of my co-workers has this one .. http://i.kinja-img.c…Ramanisky2 - sorry nope he has this one
http://cdn.pocket-li…Ramanisky2 - my new main camera is a Fujifilm X-T1 since 3 weeks. I fell in love with it pretty quickly. Fuji makes great cameras.Bennn
- I'd love the X-T1, but that'd be almost a replacement for my Nikon D610. X70 should be a nice every day camera.mg33

I'm trying to stop using VSCO recently. I've found tutorial on the web on how to create your own ''VSCO effects'' in Photoshop. I've tried them and it's very cool, you have way more space to play and personalised your own effects.
VSCO effects are super cool, but I always feel like I'm cheating when I use them... They can make any shitty pictures looks cool.
Also, I kind of easily recognize the VSCO effects on pictures. That makes them kinda generic.
Yeah, creating your own effects mean some work in Photoshop, VSCO is fast and is the lazy way to have nice picture in 30sec. But I'm more proud of my pics that way.
That said, I still use VSCO on some of my pics because, well, it's fast and easy.
- If I ever use any of the pre-made VSCO filters, I usually always go into the rest of the options and tweak those as well to make it more my own.Ramanisky2

- I've got a picture for you Bennn. Since photography is dead you need to provide context.ORAZAL
- Could you post this as your own but with context? https://i.imgur.com/…
It would make much more sense if you did it.ORAZAL - whut?Bennn
- LOL. Nevermind.ORAZAL
- I use VSCO in Lightroom for raw image, and the app for phone pics. I've not once used a preset without customizing itmg33
- And I save those off by name of the place the photos were taken. Makes it easy to reference when editing similar photos down the road.mg33
- Honestly, it doesn't matter if you start with a preset or a fully custom approach. Your goal is to capitalize on a mood you experienced when taking the photo.mg33
- And, considering most of the presets are attempts at being true to a particular type of film, there's a parallel to choosing a physical film to shoot with.mg33
- I agree with you mg33, but you need to tweak a lot, otherwise the filters are easily recognisable. I know it similate films, but it still a filter that simulateBennn
- and I didnt know about the VSCO in Lightroom, is it a plugin or what?Bennn
- I think we've talked about this before :) VSCO sells presets and LR editing tools that are fantastic, called VSCO Film.
http://vsco.co/store…mg33 - 50% of the joy is messing with tones, levels etc in photoshop. So I've never once used a preset. Does mean my pics all look kinda similar though.HAYZ1LLLA
- @mg33 maybe i dont remember :P thanks for the link, will check itBennn
- No problem. All their preset packages come with some really nice editing tools that LR doesn't make easily available.mg33
- I'll stick w/ VSCO :)bklyndroobeki
- sigh. here ben check out ben https://www.youtube.…deathboy
- Everything is dead to Benn lol
Ya been using light room+VSCO+Manuel tweaking. Anyone used Lightroom on iPad yet? How is it with raw?pango

The joy of getting film back is maybe the best part of using a film camera every now and then. I took my Pentax P3 to Breckenridge earlier this month, left my digital stuff at home. Had some Tri-X 400 and Ektar 100. The Ektar roll broke inside the camera and I lost some shots that would have otherwise been really nice. But here are a couple color ones, and some of the Tri-X shots.
- If you're interested, I've got a new blog post up with some background on these photos
http://www.michaelga…mg33 - Nice! About to get some rolls developed as well. Forgot the excitement it brings.futurefood
