"Show Us Your Style" Design Contest
FAIRspot is holding its first contest to see who can design the best background for the FAIRspot.com site. This is your chance to show us—and possibly the entire FAIRspot community—your personal style.
PRIZES: Three (3) Winners will receive a hand-signed copy of Brand Nu's book, "Book of Colours" and their art will be rotated on the FAIRspot site starting February.
DEADLINE: January 31, 2009

hand-signed is the virtually-spotless of fashion publishers

jfletcher, not the same at all. We're simply giving designers some exposure. In addition to giving away the prizes, we'll credit the backgrounds to those who created them(of course), and we'll link to their portfolios(of course), etc. Think of us as a coffee shop or a gallery that is hanging some posters on the wall for a month and promoting the work of the artists.

the artwork I hang up in a coffeeshop is then sold to the customers. The design work made here can't be used for anybody else because it was created for your company. The designer only gets paid IF you pick his or her design.

The point being in NO other industry do you have "contests" for free labor. If you need new electrical wires, you pay the electrician, you don't have a contest to see who can wire your house the best.

i don't want to be a detractor for collaboration but this is a non-opportunity really. your book is obviously signed with a hand and your contest is obviously just cheap marketing.
