Hi all,
There a video here on how to map artwork to an object in photoshop, anyone know how to do it in AI, I tried the 3D tools, mapping artwork from there, but the artwork doesn't seem to snap to the perspective of the existing object.

Open up the appearance palette, double click on the 3D effect, and click on Map Art. The surface of the model may be broken into different sections, and it often works best to create art for each face of the section. The simpler the art, the better. You do not need to outline type. Good luck.

It's not just going to snap; you're going to have to do the math. Good luck again.

Well the object to put the artwork onto (a monitor) is at an angle and the artwork to place on top has no perspective, was hoping AI would match the perspective of the monitor.
- you can rotate the artwork to match the angle of the monitor.monospaced

Forgot to post video:

You have to create the 3D object, in Illustrator, in order to map artwork onto it. Otherwise, use Photoshop and the methods shown in that video.

Ok, might be easier to use PS, I did indeed use the 3D tool on the object, but when mapping art to the shape, it was impossible to get right because there is no option to add perspective to the artwork.

The artwork will map to the object's perspective. I have a feeling you did not create a 3D model of a monitor in Illustrator.
