I could use some constructive criticism on this design sketch. Let me have it. :)

is it for 1024?

the combination of helvetica and futura bothers me. pick one. I'd make all those little module pics black and white or all color. I would also perhaps ditch the drop shadow and use some kind of element with your greenish blue lines/futura glyph or something instead.
- Thanks, I'll definitely look into that. It's Avenir though.doctor
- Or if you're thinking about the logo - I'm not allowed to change it.doctor
- still, too many fonts is my point. be consistent.doesnotexist

"In English" seems to sort of hang there next to the logo. Maybe move it over to the right with the other links?

sexy-- more color! try a warmer accent color for the type.. more orange"? looks great thus far

It is for a shop that sells arts and crafts from Finland, ie. Marimekko and Iittala etc.
It is for 1024.

Why it was fixed width and not fluid as they had asked for?
- that registered and i lolbrandelec

- I was asked to design for 1024, specifically. They don't know what's good for them... :)doctor

The nav seems a little wind, it makes it looks like you need to put the logo higher as there ws not enough space. Maybe if the nav was narrower, the logo could sit on the same base line.
Good point about the images as well
- nav seems a little WIDETerminal27
- Maybe that's the solution. It would ruin the 'grid effect' in the nav though.doctor

difficult as I don't speak the language but I look around and don;'t know exactly what it is, some kind of product catalogue for posh household goods perhaps?
Depending on how well the brand is known, maybe something more obvious as to what/who they are... image or a mission statement type thing.
layout in general is quite nice, though it feels rather cold and sterile. No real personality.

I've been having much doubt about the top of the page, fitting the logo and the nav in. Any suggestions are more than welcome.
I'll upload a revised sketch soon.

navigation: Fisnk Form | Designere | Produkter
blocks: Om Buttiken | Produkter | Designere
buttons in blocks: Finsk Form | Produkter | Designere
the ranking is a bit confusing.

I should note that the wide image will shift or fade into another one. So the image of the bowl isn't a static part of the front page.

ill have to agree that it seems rather sterile. i dont want to reiterate whats already been critiqued but more color certainly wouldn't hurt the overall mood. i like the blue bars to call out important links and information, but the overall use of blue white and gray makes me feel like im looking at a medical website.

I'm working on the palette right now. I can see what you all say about the color - it is quite sterile now, which is typical for my style, I guess... I'll see what I can do.

Design is good, could maybe use a little space towards the bottom as things seem a tad bit cluttered. Type needs to be worked on, seems really blurry to me, maybe change the alias settings. dark gradient webpage background not working too well. Good job.

Revised sketch: http://korpusdesign.dk/sitecrit/…
Initial sketch: http://korpusdesign.dk/sitecrit/…Did I just go from bad to worse, concerning the page top?
Thanks for all the input so far! :)

I think the palette was warmed up a little, by getting rid of some of the blue and introducing the green. I made a triad from the logo color (http://kuler.adobe.com/#themes...
I like having so much white space, so if I was to live the colors up more, I should probably add some color photos...
What do you think?

I'll give the revised sketch a little love, and that will just have to do for today...

Third iteration: http://korpusdesign.dk/sitecrit/…
* Fixed the top navigation, so it fits with the grid.
* Moved logo a little out of grid order to create room and attention.Don't know whether to change the background yet.
