Quite like the logo mark here (the icon), just wondering how to create something similar in AI, I assume this could be created using a combo of circles and distort and transform effects, or am I wrong, is it manually created?

Yes, you are quite correct.

The QBN logo? I think it's a circle with, yes, distort and transform applied, and then just radial gradient.

oh sorry, meant this one:

Oh right, that one.
Yes, you are quite correct.

Pathfinders and blend modes.

ok, I'll have a bash, anyone know of any tutorials that do something similar, or anyone care to share here?
I'm just being lazy :)
- Horp0
You really are being lazy. The logo you refer to is pretty much a three minute process of combining simple geometric shapes with simple mental arithmetic finished off with a few drop down features.
Figure it out. You'll feel like you acheived something!

What is have a bash? I'm not hip to the wacky lingo you kids like to use these days.
1.) draw solid circle and ellipse (on top of circle)
2.) select both shapes, subtract from shape area in Pathfinders
3.) rotate 90ยบ four times
4.) change colors, add a gradient to one
5.) play around with blend modes in transparency palette
6.) PayPal $50 US to dog opus

nice one, $50 winging its way to you :)

wow dogopus, what a waste of time.
1. Create a six-sided star shape
2. Stylize > Rounded Corners- not the QBN logo :)iamjustoneman
- weird. sounded like you meant the qbn logo.iCanHazQBN
- Think first, speak second.dog_opus
- what icon is he talking about then????iCanHazQBN
- iamjustoneman0
should that be rotate 3 times, so that with the original, that would make a total of 4 circles?
- iamjustoneman0
plus which one has the gradient, top one?
