I am looking for a program for a website that can take pictures from a designated folder, and scroll through them with say a fade in and out effect.
Any suggestions? Anything out there that can be purchased?
Example: http://www.fecalface.com/SF/ (BUT - it does not have to be flash or come with the information. Cropping of the image by the program would be awesome!!
Example: http://graphpaperpress.com/demo/…
(BUT not for wordpress)Anybody write anything like this out there?

I know animated gifs are pretty much what im looking for BUT i would rather it pull from a designated folder so I can just drop files in and out as i please

That sounds perfect anywhere i can purchase that? or see how you used it? I don't think i need lightbox for this particular application.

I use something like that, had a programmer friend do it for barter.
I think it's pretty easy to set up and I know there are some templates around.

- that looks great--the one thing I wonder about full screen scaling of photos is the funky image degradation that goes onmagnificent_ruin

- yeah, that is the one thing that bugs me.doesnotexist
- I think you can control that.
Awesome site thoMachuse - thank you, sirdoesnotexist

D_Dot, I don't know if you saw this, but I fixed up your script a bit to paginate, would probably work for you shaman as well...

just note that the path to the folder with the images may need to be modified, right now it works on whatever folder the script is in
- Wow thanks man. i had already worked it out, so I didn't see that you had done that. I appreciate it though.D_Dot
- no worries, i was procrastinating anyway :)acescence
- This was how I managed it, but I'm sure yours is cleaner :)

These guys have a similar effect to that doesnotexist, using Javascript and CSS as opposed to flash. Not sure how the images are called, but I'm sure you could use the php directory function and make it look pretty sweet.
- true, though you can't apple+w that window and the pics don't slide so nicelydoesnotexist
- not sure about the apple+w but I'm sure mootools has an image slide/fade effect.. Just as an alternative I mean.D_Dot

would these work in a smaller area on the website like my examples above instead of the whole screen?

acescence, this seems interesting, i tried it out but i get "no images specified in folder"
path is set correctly..
- the path should be the path in the local filesystem, not web path. what do you have it set to?acescence
- yeah i have a folder called photos in the same dir and so i have it set to "photos"janne76
- $path = ".";
$path_large = "photos";janne76 - path should be photos/ and inside of that is a folder called large.D_Dot
- both the php file and the photos folder are in the same subdirectory though! i forgot to mention..janne76
- oh haha.. forgot large then..janne76
- Ya but I set it up so the thumbnails are in the root folder, and the large versions are in a folder inside of that named large. $path='.' doesn't point to anything.D_Dot
- $path='.' doesn't point to anything. Change that to your path.D_Dot
- doh.. i mixed up large and normal path.. works now. sweet! thanks ace & d_dot!janne76

$path is the path to the thumbnails, $path_large is the path to the full size versions. in your settings it's looking for thumbs in the directory the script is in, and the large version one level down in /photos
you could mod it to append a _thumb or _large or something to the filename if you want both large and thumbs in same directory
- I ended up deprecating the file extensions in oreder to name the images in lightbox... I'm so lazyD_Dot

These works pretty good.
