I coming back to towers after two years away and want to see what people think.
Buy MacPro with 32bit CS4
Build PC tower and buy 64bit CS4 (keeping in mind I really can't stand windows)
In any case I plan to wait around for a new Mac Tower to come out seems how they are due for an update.

You are not trying to find out what you are going to do, you allready know what you are going to do, you want to know why. Now Neo be patience till the new towers come out!

I can't find the link, but there is a website where they compare the two. Try Googling for it. As I remember even the best Dell PC was quite a bit cheaper than a good Mac Pro and that's what they decided on.

Yea we have a dell tower at work that absolutely screams and it wasn't much more than a cheap Apple tower

(keeping in mind I really can't stand OSX)
I've been building my PC for the last 6 years and have gone through 3 builds. Doing this has always allowed me to have a fantastic machine at extremely low costs but.. overall I'm about tired of the hassle involved with researching and ordering the best new parts, then building the computer, installing everything...
I was considering buying a BOXX as they're unbelievable systems, but I might just bite the bullet and grab a MacPro and just run Vista on it (and eventually upgrade to Windows7).
The Mac Pro is a good option, just buy your own RAM.
- for the price, it really is. when they first released them they were considerably cheaper than dell/hp/etc.Chief

BOXX looks good, but why are they selling more than 4 gigs when windows can only fit 4

In order to answer your question, can you answer the ones below please?
who is going to use it?
and on which operating system he feels more comfortable working?

depends on how much you feel your time is worth i suppose. i've built my share of PCs, but for the time I dumped into those projects I'm happy to order up a mac pro these days and be done with it.

Got better things to do with your time than building PCs surely.

build a dual boot mac/pc and have the best of both worlds, just buy 2 hd - easy!

I recently had to make the same decision. After building several PC's myself and always having hardware/driver issues, and facing limited manufacturer warranties on each item, along with all the hassles Kult mentioned above – I bought a MacBook Pro. I have no regrets, best decision I've made in a long time, despite the steep price.

its the OS. i dont care if it came in a cardboard box for 3 times what i can pay for a PC.

I've been thinking about getting a mac pro....
is this a good time to nab one?..i'm never sure ...seems
around here folks are always saying 'wait til next month after '_fill in the blank' event or something...
I'll need to be dual booting as well....is it a hassle to go between the two OS's? from xp/vista (which ever) and OSX?
- ArmandoEstrada0
exador1, they just got updated, so its a great time to pick one up. I would also get VM Fusion if you want to run Win on a Mac environment. This will avoid the dual booting and run Win right along side OSX, drag and drop files between each, etc etc.......

the mac pros did not just get updated. macbook pros maybe. no one knows when. it depends on when intel releases the next line of chips. probably january at macworld.
- thanks as well chief...I'll let the boss know i'm thinking of Jan...Not sure i want to wait that long tho ;)exador1
