Home made screen printing is pretty cool. I used to make teeshirts using net curtain glued across a hole cut in a mountboard frame. I would make two screens... one would be based on a 5mm offset enlargement of the artwork and I would push bleach gel through the screen to make a dispersal print, then inside that I would do a fabric paint screen print of the artwork, so it was a colour print sat inside a dispersal.
It looked pretty good. I only ever did one-offs for myself, but you could probably make the screens more durable than I did for short runs of handmade print tees.

Bump this in two months and I might have an answer for you.
I might not, of course, but I am hoping to.

buy the screens and apply emulsion (keep them in the dark)- lazer print your designs in black and white on transparency paper and then burn them into the screens... I use to screen print my own shirts- it can be a lot of fun, if you can stand the smell....
- is it worth buying a proper screen printer, they're not that expensive.. but how do the prints look like on t-shirts? is there a specific type of paint needed to be washable?mistakesarebeautiful
