The easiest way to add "iPhone" connectivity to ANY home theater system (in my opinion) is to add the Apple TV. It allows wireless streaming of most content from any iOS device (and even Macs) on the network. Plus it adds sleek access to other streaming. I prefer this much more to finding a device with a dock or separate AirPlay or Bluetooth in a component (such as a sound bar).
- this or AirPort (express)mekk
- Only an idiot would pay for an Express when for the same price you get the Apple TVmonospaced
- don't you need airport/wireless router inorder to use Apple TV? I'm getting a nice tv and want Apple TV to show my photos...jaylarson
- you can also connect it via cable (LAN)mekk
- You should have a wireless router at this point anyway.monospaced
- I do, but I'd rather just get the "Apple system". Hopefully it simplifies the whole process of setting up WiFi.jaylarson
- your apple gizmo can't provide an internet connection, you will need your router and/or modemmekk

If you are going for it. Dont fuck about.
Go BOSE - you'll never, ever look back... EVER
Plus it's the official audio partner of the NFL.
I only actually turn mine on on Sundays whilst drinking Bud Light - the official beer of the NFL...
Hopefully I made some money here endorsing cool stuff!!

- no offense..Miguex
- haha none taken. I'm not a huge audiophile so they might do ok. I just like the lack of wire clutter.bogue

@jacklalane
In my personal opinion, it affects it a lot. But, in the end, a crappy speaker is a crappy speaker. If you get a set of speakers with bigger power requirements and a flatter response, I highly recommend getting a receiver with comparable specs to give them the power they need. Upgrading to my new receiver definitely gave new life to old speakers, though.- I probably should upgrade since I have two speakers sets jammed into one output channel.
jacklalane - OMG, yes. That can't be good for the amps or the speakers. Too little/much power really stresses them.monospaced

How much does a crappy receiver affect the sound on quality speakers?
I wondering if it's worth upgrading when it sounds pretty good to me.
