Having heard and been incredibly bored by the latest Oasis single I have dug out the debut to remind me that they were once vital. I stand by this album, great energy and a brilliant record about escaping the doldrums of working class life.
But it's almost already hard to believe now that they were ever any good. They are like Elton John, imagine telling some teenager that Elton John used to be cool and made some brilliant music. You'd get happy slapped. And I reckon Oasis are already approaching that. Still at least they made one good album.

Classic case of a band going on for too long.

too true, but at least some bands try and experiment, look at new directions and make some attempt to push themselves musically. They never had.

Brilliant Album. I hated all that Seattle shit growing up, was a Stone Roses Teenager, so when that album came out, blew my mind. Brilliant and still is.
Tossers they will always be though....

The drumming on that album is shite.

Wasn't Noel Gallagher supposed to do more stuff with Ian Brown? Maybe they've both had it.

I like Andy Bell too.
- Oasis ruined Ride. They were good till Oasis released their debut and Andy Bell started trying to sound like them.Wolfboy

MimioI liked that last Ian Brown album, in fact the only one of his solo albums I've not really enjoyed is his first
