The book is stunning. I couldn't put it down. While on paternity leave I gobbled the whole thing in six hours. Can't wait for the film, esp. since Viggo is playing the father.

Anyone else notice how McCarthy writes the way the old sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) talks in the No Country movie? In phrases, terse but colorful. I mean that as a compliment. Picture TLJ narrating and you'll see what I mean.

He does it in The Road too, many incomplete sentences with a declarative, humble Americana tone. I read the entire book with TLJ's voice in my head.

Gonna read that book soon then. how many pages is it?

you can buy a 16 page version which only has chapter headings in 72 pt type and cartoons though

well written, but there was A LOT of excess flowery language that made it difficult to read. Like, I get it ... it's grey and dark and the world is a mess.
That being said, I felt totally emotional at a couple of points. Moreso than any other book I've ever read.
It should be interesting to see how the movie is treated.

Great book, completely grim and bleak, just the way I like em:D
