at this point you are probably better off going to vegas and betting it all on black.
- ETM0
I just got back from Vegas 2 weeks ago. Didn't win a thing :(
Speaking of that though, I didn't see any sign of economic slow down when I was there. Busy as ever, shows sold out.

what were you playing? blackjack is really the only game where the house doesn't have a clear advantage. I like to do the old outside betting on roulette (red or black). Basically betting on flipping a coin.

Also, we need to consider that if we want to help the stock market, 5, 10 or 20 of us little guys need to invest to take the place of a larger investor who has pulled everything out and contributing to the problem.
- What? you would pull your money out to if you were losing a million dollars an hour.epete22

Great article in today's NYTimes about this... "Investors with a Sense of History See a Time to Buy"
Warren Buffet has invested 8 billion in Goldman Sachs and GE. So, there ya go. Also on Forbes, they have an article on the best 10 small companies, weighed by their stock performance and accounting standards, etc.

everyone here at my co. finanacial services co. talks about putting their money in funds not stock. I'd like to buy stock because I never have.

@ETM. apple has a set the bar high for themselves. so much of the product is based on image that it would take a minor shift and they'd go down the tubes. they have their customers brainwashed into believing their products are worth twice as much as their competitors. all it would take is a snap back to reality (a depression) to change that.

Do you all perform surgeries on yourselves too? It makes as much sense as investing yourself with zero financial experience.
- Remove your own Appendix for Dummies works just fine, thanks.ETM
