Anyone know of any good tips on chroma keying in Adobe after effects?
or extra plug-ins that do a better job then the ones built into EA.
Just build an awesomly massive greenscreen in my garage.

Check out VideoCopilot.net. He has some great tips on keying. There are some additional plug ins, but AE is pretty powerful if you understand the various key filters and how to combine things.
- cool, i need to play around as this is new territory... thanksross

Add a light from behind to define the edge of the subject. It will make for a cleaner edge. I've heard that having a straw colored filter on the backlight works well.

but i think now there are some better ones...
how does your wife feel about this?
- She thinks that im nuts, but we dont own a car or anything, so its basicall a place to park bicycles and hockey sticks.ross
- its ten feet high, ten feet wide, curved to the floor, then 10' x 10' on the ground.ross
- basically its the first stages of convincing that we should have a mini ramp in teh garage...ross

Ultimatte wins hands down, expensive but THE best.
in AE follow andrew kramers tuts on videocopilot.net, you'll find everything on basic keying/comping there.

a recent project i worked on ... the green screen keyed videos had so many weird problems that I had to rotoscope those out ... holy shizza
not fun at allkeylight 1.2 is the best for keying out ... IMHO

just render tiff sequence take to photoshop and do it manually
- thats a real pain staking process and tricky if they have light hair.The_archer

Has anyone messed with the new Adobe Ultra CS3 yet for keying ? (Comes with CS3 Master Collection)>
http://www.adobe.com/products/cr…I have it, just haven't tried it yet.

Be sure to light the green screen seperately and have plenty of distance between the screen and your subject. As mentioned AE's Keylight 1.2 works great.

fyoucher1 - Ultra is pretty neat. I prefer keying in AE, but Ultra's virtual studio is a great idea... problem is the studios look too fake.

BUMP.
Got a shit load of green screen footage I need to make temp comps as a guide - before we go in with our flame operator. Though things like yellow are falling with the green as well...
Any tips for AE CC? Keylight is kinda working... though not great...
