This weekend world renonwned photojournalist James Nachtwey (Time magazine), broke a global photo story that he's been shooting for a year. It's about a new evolved form of Tuberculosis that's untreatable called XDR-TB (extremely drug resistant TB).
The project was a result of him winning the TED prize last year, he was given a grant of $100,000 to create awareness of an issue of his choice, he chose this.
Have a look at his amazing photos here:
http://www.xdrtb.org/photographs…Also, I've been part of the team organising the London launch of the project. We spent the weekend evenings projecting the photos onto the National Theatre. We built this site to track coverage on blogs etc, it also allows you to leave comments on top of all the links:
The London group for the project is called The Emergency Room, we'll have a place just off Brick Lane (Bacon Street) from Tuesday where you can drop in a find out more about James Nachtwey's Ted Wish, and take photos, do projects etc.
If you want to get involved right now, you can take a photo of your BCG scar (TB vaccine) and post it up to out flickr page:
http://flickr.com/photos/theemer…It's been great getting involved with a project for TED as a designer, spending all my spare time after my day job working on this project and learning loads about the disease, pretty scary really. So pass this around as much as possible (blog about the photos if you can). The photos were in the Observer magazine yesterday and will be in TIME magazine very soon.
thanks.

thanks janne. The images are really powerful, it's great just to have helped out with the project in some small way.
