1. Live turn-by-turn GPS updates (not just the blue moving dot)
2. Forward SMS (come on now this is basic)
3. Video recording (come on now this is basic)
4. MMS functionality (come on now this is basic)These are some of my requests, what do you want to see from the next upgrade?

#2 would be nice, yes, but the rest I couldn't care less about.

It has some pretty basic stuff missing, which is a wee bit annoying, but I don't know what I'd do without mine now... primarily because of the app store.

I think jailbreak is for nerds who wanna be so tough and cool that an off-the-shelf item just doesn’t cut it for them. “Hey I rock the jailbroken iPhone, ’coz I’m on the edge – hacker-style”

I agree with all 4 of your bullets, Apple should also include:
• Capable of playing Adobe Flash
• Capable of shooting Video

option to email or text contacts would be nice and horizontal keyboard in email, text, and address book

I would like some notification of new messages/mail for when the phone is in sleep mode. Maybe a little LED in the home button (obviously, that’s a hardware fix).
I resist the urge to get too many apps. It just lowers the overall performance of the thing. Someone I know downloaded as many free silly apps as they could and wondered why their phone kept crashing all the time.

Some people I know, amazingly - web coders, still haven't upgraded theirs to 2.0 (or 2.1 for that matter) let alone jailbreak them. I really don't know how you can use an iPhone or iPod Touch without installing any apps.
My latest jailbreak favourite: Backgrounder. Amazing, makes ANY app run in the background (ie. Fring or other IM) with a single click.

being able to view flash would be nice
being able to send + receive multimedia SMS's
not too fussed about needing to record video
other than that i love it to bits - but none of those spoil my enjoyment.
mattia, if everything is 'basic stuff', why not try adding those extra bits of functionality yoursef? :)
