In the next year, are you more afraid of an economic collapse leading to a depression, or a terrorist attack occurring?

- please no more of this kind of talk. it scares melocustsloth

Terrorist attack is hard to worry about, it's a random event that you can't predict. I guess I am more worried on the economy, not that there will be a depression but if things take a long time to recover that will be tough for everyone and I don't want that.

I think the economy going tits up is far more likely...I'll go with that
- 5timuli0
WWIII being an increasing possibility.
- dog_opus0
Yeah, I'll go with the former. I'll be grateful just to hold onto my job.
It's worth noting, however, that the latter would all but guarantee the former.

much more afraid that even a foil stamp on the cover will not help make this look any better.

Probably the economy going bust. i'm in a state that has little to no targets, so it's unlikely that even if there was a terrorist attack, that i or my family would be directly affected.
However, if the economy tanks in a real way (not just people losing money on stock, which i don't own i cent of), i'd be real nervous.

I wonder if it makes sense to position yourself to benefit from any economic crisis. How can I do that?

Not afraid of a terrorist attack at all. As ukit says, unless you live in a particular danger zone it's a pretty remote random occurence. And I speak as someone who lived in Londonderry in the early seventies.
More worried about economic collapse and the 'little money' I have invested over the past 10 years. But as long as I have a roof over my head and I can feed my family I'll be happy.

I am more afraid of McCain & Palin running the U.S. with "bridges to nowhere" and "God said, build a gas pipeline through Alaska" more than the economy or a terrorist act combined. If they are elected nothing else will even come close!
- rafalski0
If you're afraid of a terrorist attack more than being killed by a lightning or by falling from a ladder, you have been properly brainfucked.
The odds of a death on a ladder or by lightning are greater. The reason they scare you is to fuck you even harder and take control over you.
You'd think they'd introduce Ladder Act - no, it was Patriot Act instead..

I am afraid of motherfuckers and shit yo!
