As I expected, the market didn't go up today. I think the market sentiment is completely negative. They should have acted and passed the bill last weekend. I was pissed when I didn't see the bill passed sunday before the asian market opened. I was furious on Monday. It wasn't a perfect solution, but they had to act quick and they didn't. Now the market lost trillion dollars in value and still going down, completely losing confidence.
Thanks to financially irresponsible people, both lender and borrower, I now have to deal with this issue too.
Either you are a fulltimer or freelancer, you'll feel some pain. It might be good for young designer to break in since they are willing to work at cheaper rate.

this will only end in tears and recriminations

You have many questions, and although the process has altered your consciousness, you remain irrevocably human. Ergo, some of my answers you will understand, and some of them you will not. Concordantly, while your first question may be the most pertinent, you may or may not realize it is also irrelevant.

You'll want to check out the first post of this thread

There was an interesting and insightful thread about whether the ensuing recession was going to affect the freelance industry... different points of views from across the globe and the odd sarcastic comment thrown in for good [QBN] measure and then "puff" it's gone
- Dancer0
It was more about Freelancers than actual politics though
- kelpie0
well unless people started posting "damn those republics I sure hope the dems get in and sort this mess" instead of "its great I'm getting lots of work now", then I fail to see how its political.
On that reading *everything* is politics
- Faction180
bummer, it was one of my more successful threads.

I have a sneaking feeling I know who deleted this thread, and I think the person in question made a bit of a faux pas and gave the game away. I have suspected this person in the past of being responsible for some controversial decisions and each time there are some suspicious timings to enforce my belief.
If I'm right, and you are reading this... I think you know that you acted a little too hastily on this occasion. I think you made a mistake... not that I am someone that You would be willing to entertain as having a reasonable point to make.

maybe QBN is owned by some bank and its the start of end of days.

Seriously, it shouldn't have been deleted. It was a perfectly valid and meaningful post. Recession around the works is happening, I like to hear what real people have to say about the impact it has in the design world. Shame on you!
