I'm with Morning Star there!My dad has some old books from the 70s or early 80s. You may be able to find them online? they were called GRAFFITI and the books were just full of daft graffiti from around the world. i dont mean stencil stuff or funky text ... just shit like
Poster: "Bill Posters Will be Prosecuted"
Graffiti under: "Aww, poor Bill Posters!"
kinda stuff.
There was also another book that my dad had called "NEW Masterpieces" which was a book full of old classic paintings where they'd airbrushed or painted in joints into mouths, people on motorbikes instead of pushbikes - you get the idea.To me banksy is just doing exactly the same as what these books were. If genius is being 30 years late then yeah - he's a genius!

Err, note the two slashes in bluejam's post (//). I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic, sorry for pointing it out.
On a side note. It's funny that // means sarcasm on the net and comes from 'commenting out' code. Because of this when you try and google '//' you get zero results. A weird blackhole in google's logs, they can't log code that isn't there!

Thought I saw a new Banksy on the way home from work on Friday (obviously isn't). Caught a glimpse of some artwork on the wall of Damian Hirst's place in Chalford (Gloucestershire, UK) was in the Banksy style and if it had been just a normal wall, wouldn't have given it s 2nd thought but as it was Hirst's place, thought he might be trying to cause a ruckus!!!
Going past their again tonight, will stop and take a snapshot!
