With all the US financial crisis and politics and pigs with lipstick taking up the news, in a costal town called Gonaives, on the Island of Haiti has been covered in mud. The hurricanes of Ike, Fay and Hanna caused mud to run down the side of a mountain, due to de-foresting, and cut through the town on it's way out to sea. Its been over a month already and financial aid from other countries are not able to put a dent in the damage.
I feel so powerless to help these people, but maybe if enough people know about it, it could make a difference.

"And this looks like another case of: YOU LIVE ON AN ISLAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN. WTF DID YOU THINK WAS GONNA HAPPEN? "
At least your geography is not terrible.
