SM2 was commissioned this year once again to create a mini web site, email marketing campaign and banners ads for the Construction Skills Queensland's Be Constructive® Careers Expo. The Be Constructive® Careers Expo 2008 took place Friday and Saturday, 5-6 September 2008 and was a great success, with over 2000 people attending over the two days.

The Expo was very hands-on with attendees able to experience different trades from plumbing to carpentry, electrical to plastering through Try'a Trade® from WorldSkills. Exhibitors gave information on the construction industry and advice on getting a career in construction or how to up-skill yourself or your employees if already in the industry.
The portal site available at http://www.beconstructive.com.au… ties in with the existing print marketing and overall brand of Construction Skills Queensland. The mini site was supported with banner ads featured on the Construction Skills Queensland and Be Constructive websites and with an email marketing campaign. The banners on both sites received a massive 16 011 impressions or ‘eye balls'.
The email campaign went to a list of targeted subscribers who had requested correspondence by Construction Skills Queensland. The eNewsletter had a healthy read rate of nearly a 3rd of the email recipients.
The 3 page mini site was promotional based only for the event which ran for the 2 days. The site was fully editable via the Joomla! Content management system, which allows Construction Skills Queensland staff to update the text images and menus on the mini site.
SM2 also arranged for a Google Analytics to be set up to track the success and visits to the site. Google Analytics tracks the number of visits the site receives and is the most basic measure of how effectively to promote the site.
Construction Skills Queensland Marketing Manager Suzie Wing said "The Be Constructive® Careers Expo showcased the exciting and rewarding careers available in the building and construction industry. Experienced industry professionals exhibiting at the Expo were on hand to educate and guide career seekers. Construction Skills Queensland is thrilled to have hosted such an innovative and successful event."
