Lens, only buy Canon lens. A good lens will bethe difference between an okay shot and a great one.

    • a dull shot and a crisp one you mean? Ok/great depends on the eye shooting :)Meeklo

Lens. Spend the money on good glass.

What do you need the 70-200 for? To zoom in on outdoor shots or for sports/action?

    • 200 = good for shallow depth of field/isolation of subjecthallelujah

do you make enlargements past 11x14 or 12x18? if not then your body should be just fine.

glass keeps its value much longer

You're really not going to use a 70-200 in a studio. But if you want something to shoot outdoors and zoom in, the 70-200 4L will do nicely.

There are better options the Canon lenses (where you pay top $$ for that logo attached to the lens). Go with Sigma, Tokina or Tamron.

EVERY company makes quality products and has a a line of shity shits. EVERY company, including Canon, Sony, etc. Maybe the ones you were looking at were from the "shity shits" line.

get a FIXED canon lens, especially an 'L' series..which is expensive but worth it...so much sharper and if you're not enlarging images so big it's perfect...
the EF lenses are good as well. Carl Zeiss is coming out with some lenses that will fit but will be pricey.
