So I was just told that when I need to buy images for print ads that I need to pay for them outta pocket and get reimbursed. Well I don't have any credit cards. HA, this policy is going to need to change. So I am going to have to go home and tell my wife that she can't buy groceries for us and the kids until I get reimbursed for 3 images I had to buy. I am getting sick of this corporate BS.
Thx, I feel a little better.

- No joke, financing a project is the company's problem not yours, don't do it. Who knows when or _if_ they'll pay you back (I say if because I would seriously have that concern if the company I'm working full-time for asked me to do that, it's shady).blueyes

Just be glad you didn't have to use your kids as collateral

Or buy it, then add on your own personal service charge and invoice your company.

Similar shit happens around here sometimes. I've been asked to buy images a couple of times from getty by project managers. I just say no, and that I'll put in a place holder (FPO) until I'm provided the images. Fuck them. It's their advertisement not mine.

add 15% to the price for your inconvenience.

that's awful and unnaceptable, I would say bollocks! really, what don't they use low res versions for presentation purposes? then even after that they should pay for it!

Calmly explain that you're not in the business of financing corporate operations, but perhaps the bank at the corner is.

Calmly tell them to go fuck themselves.

Aye, what an asinine request. They pony up, or get no images.
What did the hand say to the face?

just say no... wtf? if you do it you'll be opening precedents for worse things to come.

same thing happened to me (I forgot where though). I basically told my boss I'm not comfortable tangling personal finances with work. he ended up using his cc.
