I'm going there for a holiday, yaaay!
The thing is, I'm going to visit my brother and whenever I do that I get lazy with research and just end up spending my entire holiday trashed with him – this is a lot of fun of course – but this time I want to check out other interesting things.
I heard there is some market that is all about strange buttons and trimmings, anyone heard of it?
anything else i should check out in design/art/music/obsolete handicrafts?
also, might pop over to China, got any recommendations as to where I should go?

Do not 'pop over' to Shenzhen as it is a total shithole and full of conning ripoff merchants. If you don't have much time to get in to China, a trip to Macau is probably more worth for a day trip type thing. Plus, you don't need a visa like you do for China.

check out cat street for some original comunist era books and chinese design manuals, hk movie posters, prints and more
basheer books is a nice little design bookstore near the causeway bay fire station
