how is life in germany? how is the rent? industry? mentality? north/south/east/west, what's best?
i keep reading it is so much cheaper than the netherlands, and not so incredibly densely populated as the netherlands, and that the people are less rude and aren't as agitated in everything as they can be here...
i am longing for a new environment..
*sigh

you dont have family?

I know Berlin has been pretty popular among creatives the last couple of years..
What has happened Janne, one poldermodel too many?
- yeah well.. i don't talk about it with dutch people anymore. most seem still happy. i am not. period.janne76

Have you considered moving to another part of Holland, friend? Renting a house in a city and losing yourself? (Though, I can imagine, from the little I know of you, that might actually be the wrost thing you could do..!)
Speaking from my own experience, I find it easy to extrapolate problems in my own local sphere to that of the generality - perspective is everything.
Are the problems borne of your environment, or your mental state?
- oh here we go again. "it's all inside your head, janne" *sigh...janne76
- i like trees, forests, silence, open spaces.. all the things we don't have here anymore.janne76
- I AM SIMPLY DIFFERENT FFS. WHEN WILL PEOPLE UNDERSTAND?janne76
- K, 'mental state' was a harsh term to use, I apologise. But, you know what I mean.Nairn
- yesjanne76
- You're a different person, living in a small place - seems to me like that's your problem.
Move. Soon.Nairn - i do not dislike living in a small place. i wish i had more air to breathe..janne76

i hear germany is good...have a few friends who have moved there, just don't know specifics at the moment. how about a trip?
- Russell_Sprout0
I knew a guy in Holland and he love/hate-fucked the place.
From what I know, Germany is not the answer. From those that I have meet in passing, I can say the Dutch are funny/strange indeed, they seem perennially content, but something must be brewing under those white pants and golf shirts?
- yes indeed. something foreigners know very little about. there's a lot of growing discontent here..janne76
- but you just said – " i don't talk about it with dutch people anymore. most seem still happy. i am not. period."Russell_Sprout
- you should be happy then to share kindred spirit!Russell_Sprout
- i can't identify with mentality here..janne76

how's your deutsch?
Germany is pretty big, there's a pretty large cultural difference between the lutheran north and the catholic south and of course the ex-communist east. There's still tons of money being pumped into the eastern part, so there's lots of growth opportunities there.
Berlin obviously is the most happening city, but i'm sure you could find work in any other metropolis, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Cologne etc.
Maybe take a train tour to see which city seems the best fit for you? In terms of looks, feel, mentality...- great answer, thanks Greedo. I have been thinking about taking a train tour along cities, indeed..janne76
- my german is fairly ok (basic), even though i should learn a lot more, but i don't mind..janne76
- you guys blow my mind with your command of languagehallelujah
- janne760
actually i wanted to go to Switzerland but that is too hard to do. And a lot more expensive. Even though it is cheaper when you are rich, which i am not.. and it is not EU, so harder as well..
- what about austria? vienna is beautiful city, perhaps a bit conservative...Greedo
- NO ARTMarcelom
- woah, there's a LOT of art stuff going on lately in Vienna. A friend of mine has contributed to exhibitions several times recently..janne76
- i don't mind the city being conservative. and vienna is indeed very nice. but a bit too far perhaps, dunno..janne76

I say make the best with where you are, things are shitty everywhere and generally in one way or another, basically the same. Life is what YOU make it and not those around you.
- or move around a bit and make the same conclusion.Russell_Sprout
- why is everyone allowed to move except for me.. *boooohoooooojanne76
