Coding - how much $

Don't do that much coding. Got a site of about 15 pages to code....mainly just CSS, no flash as of yet. Design looks like it came from a print designer who has never done web....kind of clunky for a website but I don't care much.
How much should I charge? Would $100/page be a good price? Probably take me less than an hour per page to code. It's for a non-profit if that makes any difference.

i'd charge 2k ish

your hourly rate * how long it will take + 20% for fucking about.

5K ... then since it's non-profit, jack it up to 6K then donate 1K afterwards.

$100/page plus a $150 layout development charge if it doesnt fall in normal page layout specs

Awesome advice everyone, thanks!
I really like the idea of a set rate per page and charging more if it deviates from the standard design or needs something extra. I figured the bad user experience is not really my prob, since they just asked me to code it.

are you also filling in all of the content and copy?
are the pages mostly the same layout or are they significantly different?
off the top of my head i'd say somewhere around $1500

"Don't do that much coding."
Hmm. Then you'll probably not really be all that efficient/good, so perhaps it would be a bit rich to consider charging what other proper coders might.
Not trying to accuse you of anything - I'm in the same boat, and I know I wouldn't charge a "standard coder's rate"if such a thing exists. Whatever, I would allow leeway (the inverse of skt's 20%) for my incompetence.
- Good point. I am competent enough to do a solid job..or I wouldn't have taken this on.designbot

nocomply,
That's the thing, the pages are significantly different enough where I will need to slice every page most likely. It is going to be so clunky since users will be downloading graphics on every page. In fact I need discuss how the content can not be graphics like the designer has it right now. Aliased text is not going to work for body copy :)

I see. So it looks like you're going to have to do a lot of custom coding.
I think you'll find that the pages take you longer than 1 hour apiece. Or at least you should plan on them taking longer so you don't get screwed. It also sounds like there's going to be a significant amount of time spent communicating with the client about how a piece will translate between print and web. Make sure you account for that somehow.
So maybe 2K is a better bet. What I've found works best for me is to pick a price that I feel is fair. When I try to pad my hours too much or streamline things to fit within a client's limited budget I usually don't get the job or wind up wishing I never took on the work.
