DeSantis’s crusade to delegitimize the horrors of slavery is white supremacy in government
His tactics have a singular goal – erase the horrors of America’s racist past, and create easier pathways for racism to thrive
Slavery was actually beneficial to Black people, according to a set of new rules around how Black American history is going to be taught in Florida’s public schools.
The new curriculum also includes assertions that Black people themselves perpetrated violence during historical racial massacres like the 1906 Atlanta race riot and the 1921 Tulsa massacre.
The slavery-was-actually-a-good-thin... and there-were-bad-actors-on-all-sid... bits are old, racist talking points that I’m not surprised to see Ron DeSantis shamelessly dredging up now that he’s on a national crusade to make himself as appealing as possible to the worst of white America. Using school curricula to delegitimize the horrors of slavery was an obvious next step, but we still need to call it what it is – white supremacy in government.

- It's post-blm anti-woke trendy conservative political stuff. A reaction to woke and it is a "plantation owner" type of ideology hereShulaDon92
- Rich coming from an Italian. What’s that all about.monospaced
- Makes sense. The conservative is trying to gain votes in the "own the libs" front. This is anti-anti-colonist rhetoric.

- this is crazy, they vote for a conservative but chose to live in a "liberal" country. they have the right to do so.oey_oey
- but if they want that kind of society why don't they live in it? I'm not telling for them to go, just questioning the logic.oey_oey
- Their vote will affect other people not them. This is ridiculous and a hipocrisy.oey_oey
- I can't vote in Germany though I live here, I have a daughter who has german citizenship, I work here, I pay taxes, etc...oey_oey
- But I don't have the right to choose things that affect my life and my family's life.oey_oey
- I could vote in Portugal. But I don't because I don't live there and iI will not be affected by my choice. I don't feel the right to vote, to decide.oey_oey
- Though I'm informed I don't live the reality.oey_oey
