Unless he can "lock down" proof from Democratic leadership that they will change their health care reform package to add more abortion coverage restrictions, he and 12 other anti-abortion rights Democrats will vote against the bill, Stupak said this morning on ABC's "Good Morning America."
—Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak, the House Democrat opposed to the health care legislation because of its abortion language
- Wow, you are a blockhead.DrBombay
- Did you know that the GOP's health insurance for staffers covers abortion?DrBombay

Here is something in the bill that will illustrate how much of your premiums are actually being put towards health care:
# Require premium rebates to enrollees from insurers with high administrative expenditures and require public disclosure of the percent of premiums applied to overhead costs.

WTF? CNN Headline right now: "John McCain suspends campaigning to work on economy, requests postponing Friday debate; asks Obama do the same."
Yup. Yeah this is the guy I want in the White House. "Oh, I'm sorry Mr. Putin, I can't handle this crisis, can we have a Time Out and I'll get to you next week? What? My VP? No, she's not allowed to come out and play either...."
Fucking useless...

salaried jobs are stable and predictable, plus not having to pay 33% on taxes is pretty nice, too. not to mention other benefits that range from jb to job like retirement accts, 401k matching, flex hours, etc.. and with that stability it is easy to pick and choose freelance opportunities to pile on the net worth.. and not have to pick up any shit work that is available when times are lean.
- I am salaried too. I work on projects, the way you guys were talking is like we all punch clocks like Barney Rubble. When you are salaried it is easier to just stop working for a bit when you want, and then work late when it is necessary.DrBombay

I love this too - in case you weren't convinced, Rasmussen Reports also offers this chart showing the same thing on the same page.
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/…
But hey wait a sec - this one actually shows the same numbers Gallup and every other pollster does. Obama's approval having fallen but only down to 45%.
I bet if you squished the Gallup chart into the same space, they would be almost identical in fact. So what the hell is this? Rasmussen is basically saying his other poll, the one conversatives like to post everywhere, is not true.
But the difference being - and I love this - he leaves out the disapprove numbers only from this graphic, so all you see is this massive downward trend.
You almost have to admire whoever thinks this stuff up, its pretty damn good propaganda. I mean yeah, liberals will bitch and whine about Rasmussen being biased, but no one in the media ever talks about it. And he commissions way more polls than any other company.

Call me optimistic, but it's been a number of days since the announcement and our economy is maintaining. could this perhaps be another WMD / The economy is gonna fall ruse?

oh not much just some Bills Introduced to Nullify Fair Housing Regulation.
"the Fair Housing Act prohibits housing discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, familial status, national origin, or disability – the “protected classes” of people"

Those of you who are not American might not know this but...ever since the 70s, conservatives have hated on Roe v Wade (which gives women the right to an abortion) - and the reason they always give is that decision said there was a right to privacy in the Constitution, and they don't think there is one. For decades, that's been the cornerstone of their argument against. But, Palin, not understanding a thing, claims she is both against Roe, and that there IS a right to privacy. Even after Couric catches her, she still has no idea...
Couric: Do you think there's an inherent right to privacy in the Constitution?
Palin: I do. Yeah, I do.
Couric: The cornerstone of Roe v. Wade.
Palin: I do.
