I always liked Stephen King's analogy of creativity. I'm not going to quote verbatim but you'll get the jist:
Creativity is like a well. A deep, deep well. Sometimes, you can pull water from the well for years on end; a seemingly endless supply. Sometimes you get to the bottom of that well and you have to spread your resources thin. Sometimes (rarely) the well dries up and needs time to fill itself. The well can also overflow at times.
There, that's it. For more on this check out Stephen King' On Writing.

Just changing habits can be helpful:
1) Park a long way away from where you're going, so you walk past stuff you wouldn't normally.
2) Go to the kind of store you wouldn't normally go. Like, if you usually shop at Walmarts, go to Saks, or vice-versa.
3) Interview someone who does something you don't do, and learn about it. "How did you get involved in tying fishing flies?"
4) Read two magazines that are about subjects you're not normally interested in, and that are completely different from each other. Like, Model Railroading and Modern Wedding. Or Redbook and Car and Driver.
5) Try to connect with someone you don't normally associate with. Like, try to have a long conversation with that Aunt of yours who never really liked you. Or the manager at the local oil change shop.
6) Read a book off this link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/…
7) Spend an hour imagining what life would be like if you lived on a different continent, had a different sexual orientation, and had a lot more money.
8) Go to the library, and have the librarian pick out one random music CD, one random DVD, and one random book. Listen, watch and read them all one right after the other.
9) Think for an hour about what it would be like to take the place of someone of whom you are really jealous.
10) Hit your thumb hard with a hammer, and write a screenplay about what happens afterward.
- Solid ideas, boobs. Especially number seven where you get to fantasize about being a wealthy lesbian.blaw

thanks,,, just took a walk around the hood.
I dunno, I"m feeling like LA isn't doing anything for me, like the only reason i'm stuck here is because of my family.
As far as the freelancing, most of my gigs have been 2 weeks to a month, with a few 3 month gigs mixed in.
I've had to move a couple times this year, maybe that has added weight.I draw a lot, but I should carry a sketchbook on me
