Nothing like a pintglass of coffee pour into my macbook pro to make things easy. Now the screen wont come on.

you drink PINTS of coffee?
- MrOneHundred0
Theoretically, if it is unplugged, you can just dunk it into a sink-full of water and give it a couple of days in a bright room to dry off.
- Only if you have soft water. DO NOT try in a hard water environment!ETM
- true, and no detergent!MrOneHundred

I actually removed the hard drive and made it external. I think the logic board is damaged, or the screen ribbon. I can't tell.

My current MacBook Pro has had a large glass of Kool-Aid and a large glass of Chilean Shiraz poured inside. I'm on my 3rd keyboard and about to get my third Superdrive.
I did the same with my Powerbook G4 and a large Starbucks mug full of sweet tea.

put it in a big box of rice - the rice will absorb the water.
- most interesting suggestion yet_salisae_
- This depends on how much damage has been done, right? Hopefully he didn't successfully turn anything on.Jaline
- (after the damage was done, I mean. You shouldn't try to make the laptop work before checking it out first)Jaline
- never heard of this. probably worksLlyod

I took mine apart and fiddled around with the insides. Ran some cold water over the keyboard, removed the Superdrive, stuck some tools in some slots... it was fun.

Several Q-Tips, lukewarm water, a roll of Bounty, a Philips-head screwdriver, a Torx screwdriver, a spudger, an anti-static bracelet, a tea-towel and a beer. All the tools you need for laptop repair.

somewhere in the world there's a kid dreaming about a cup of rice. rice that you're using to dry out your porno machine.

seriously though, doesn't mac cover cracked screens and spills? what does applecare cover? do they come with basic guarantees that applecare adds on to?
