what will you be using it for? as far a i know, most sceptre monitors have MVA type panels, couldn't find any info on that specific model though. MVA panels have better color and black than a TN, but not as good as an IPS, like the higher end Dells and Cinema Displays. The major drawback though is that MVA panels have the worst response times of all panels, so it's pretty useless for gaming or lots of motion.

    • i saw the 2ms response time and high contrast ratio but as ribit points out the flagrant use of apostrophes might render it uselessTark1/2

1983 called and wants the Sceptre logo back.

I wouldn't buy a monitor from a company with such bad use of apostrophes.

    and its ugly.

I tried to buy one of those a few months ago and finally gave up.
Every one of the one I brought home (which was 3 of them before I gave up) had at least 2 dead pixels.

Newegg's return policy requires at least 8 dead pixels I think. I would not buy that if I were you.

    • I'm replacing a 17inch mac flatpanel studio display. i need something bigger but i guess i will have to spend at least $500 for something that is decent. Thanks for all the advice.Tark1/2
maybe i can sell the 17 inch and put the $ into something of better quality.Tark2/2

I always post this when people ask about LCDs...

    http://www.flatpanels.dk/panels.…

it will tell you what's on the inside. If you're doing design work, don't bother with anything that's not an S-IPS panel

    • Nice Link. ThanksLo_Fi
