This is pretty embarrassing, but I don't remember how to reverse out my type in InDesign (CS3). I'm looking to have a solid text frame background over an illustration with the text knocked out. I could do it pretty quickly with pathfinder or in Illustrator, but I know there's a better way (just can't remember!). Thanks, and please keep the derision to a minimum.

regardless, i believe you're going to have to convert text to outlines and make a compound path, no? and place image inside of text or knock out of box

Thanks for the response, guys. See, here's the thing: I have a program cover with an illustration taking up the top half of the page. I want a solid colored vertical bar on the right with the event title text punched through. For some reason, I thought there was an easy way to do it, but I'm thinking that I might have to convert it to outlines and subtract from shape. I'm kind of borderline OCD, so when I think I know about a way to do something, I'll go nuts trying to figure it out. haha
