  For those of you that think you know what ghetto is.. Let me introduce you to Ilha Das flores

  A constant and verbose off-narrator guides the viewer through the life of a tomato. Beginning at Mr Suzuki's tomato field, the tomato is then sold to a supermarket, where it is acquired by Mrs Anete, a perfume saleswoman, together with some pork.

  Together with the rest of the garbage, the tomato is taken to Isle of Flowers (Ilha das Flores), Porto Alegre's landfill. There, the most adequate organic material is selected as food for pigs. The rest, which is considered inadequate for the pigs, is given to poor women and children to feed.

  it narrates the story of a tomato that ends up in a landfill in Porto Alegre (Brasil) where it becomes food for pigs, once (and only when) the pigs are satisfied, the owner of the landfill allows women and children to search the organic garbage in small groups, for a few minutes each, so they can take it with them an eat it with their families.

  seriously, I know it's long but give it a chance, the film is one of the most amazing things you will see, the narration, the story, the visual aspect of it.. I've seen this many years ago but only now I found it with english subtitles.
  Give it a chance you won't be disappointed and it will give you a complete different perspective about what ghetto means.
