    I never will understand this.... if people are going to protest why don't they show up wearing the exact same gear as the riot police wear. I mean, it's 2008, I'm sure you can google "Denver Police Riot Gear Uniforms" and within minutes find out exactly what they look like.

    Then, you and like 200 people all order them and show up the day of your protest looking identical to the riot police. They'll be looking at you like "WTF.... who's squad are they with" and you just look back at them and be like "WTF... who sent you guys? We're with the 4th coming outta the 8th Precinct. We got this, you guys can go home" and they'll all be like "Well fuck they look legit".

    It will blow their fucking minds. If they do figure it out they won't know who to mace or arrest and I bet they'll be beating each other when the riot breaks out.

    This could possibly be the best idea I've ever had.

    I agree with "use of force" in certain situations. But she was no where near their little golf cart when the officer totally destroyed her while saying "back it up bitch". I think it was a little uncalled for.

    the video doesn´t show what happened before the cop lost it. she could as well have stepped over the line earlier. i´ve been to number of demonstrations/riots and it´s always been a couple of demonstrator idiots that start shit throwing rocks, storming the blocking lines, etc., before the cops loose their calm and go berserk on everybody.

    one time, there was a couple of hundred cops buffering anti-nazi demonstrators from a mob of the worst kind of hardcore powerskins (the ones that would throw a black man out off a train when they met him alone at night). among the riot police were a couple of black cops, who were being assaulted and insulted as "fascist pigs", when their were only making sure that neither side was hurt. there were standing there for +8 hours, in full riot gear, in 100°F heat. getting treated like pieces of shit from both sides, getting rocks, bottles. because people thought that they were fighting "the man". i felt ashamed to be part of that crowd, that´s why i am serious about this. all of the riots i´ve seen were for sport (exactly like hooligan riots), and not for political reasons, no self-defense. politics only the excuse for rock´n´roll.

    the riot cops on that occasion didn´t loose their cool, which IMO was a super-human accomplishment. but you don´t see videos from that perspective.

    Seems like she might have asked him to "Fuckin' do it again".

    Even if she provoked him, he assaulted her and could have simply tased her and her little pink outfit. Tasing is perfectly alright it seems.

    i don't know that i care what she did before he smacked her like that. she could've been taunting and taunting, and at that point he could've easily just handcuffed her and taken her in. not like he didn't have backup.

    that use of violence was not warrented, IMO

    Totally agree with you sputnik2. She would have to be hitting him with a fucking 2x4 before he should be authorized to use that kind of force.

    And I don't buy any excuse for the officer being under stress by the situation. That is what they are supposed to be trained for.

    I've seen cops get the raw end of it many times but I've also seen them give the beats where it totally isn't warranted.

    he didn´t hit her face and he didn´t go apeshit on her. he put way too much energy in that one push, no argument there, but he clearly wasn´t trying to k.o. or hurt her. push against the chest probably knocked the air out of her, nothing more. she seemed to be fine when she gave the interview afterwards?
