Got 4 out. Don't remember much. My dad gave me Mac & cheese all week since I decided to get it done during March Break (spring break). I went through the bottle of painkillers quickly.

I had to get them out as they could've messed with the work my braces did earlier. (I had to get 4 teeth out before putting my braces in too, so I've had 8 pulled out in total). So all my work was done before grade 10.

I had 4, impacted. That got infected, and ballooned my face to three times its size- just in time for my first day as a freshman in college. What a bloody mess.

Had one out earlier this year, process was fine and all was good until the anaesthetic wore off. By jesus the pain was horrible, but what was worse was no solid foods for a few days. Solids are my favourite food group!

    • Mine didn't hurt afterwards. I followed the dentist's instructions to a T.Redmond1/5
I followed them too and it still hurt like a bitch! Plus, I'd get headaches all the time since my jaw hurt.Jaline2/5
yep, jaline, that is exactly where i'm at right nowrodzilla3/5
Agree with you J. All the bits I were supposed to do, done. Still hurt like a bastard with headaches n such.ian4/5
Also, mine was infected, so I had to go antibiotics for a week before I could get it removed. Now that was miserable.ian5/5

You should get them removed because it can break into bits into your jaw eventually.

    • whattttkatekelly1/5
If the teeth doesn't get enough space, it pushes the other teeth and it can break up into pieces internally.Redmond2/5
      I believe it.Jaline3/5

You can feel it pushing. Some people do have cracks that form eventually.Jaline5/5

Imagine when their were no dentist/doctors.
Would people just be in perpetual pain?

    • Or they pulled it out themselves.Jaline1/5
no, where whisky and pliers/screwdrivers would enter the equation.ian2/5
      whiskey!megE3/5

All 4 of mines were impacted and coming up at angles. They had to go under the gum line and cut them in half's.

Was awake for the entire thing.

    • I wanted to be awake but they suggested that I be put under.Jaline1/8
I was awake too, pretty bizarre when you look up at the doc and he has your blood on his foreheadrodzilla2/8
Do they base this on the type of procedure or body weight / mass? I'm pretty small, but can take a lot of pain.Jaline3/8
      *time to WikiJaline4/8
for me, they just asked me what I wanted to do, I didn't want to spend 300 bucks to be put to sleeprodzilla5/8
so instead i was awake, listening to all of the grinding crunching, and doctor cursing under his breath cuz herodzilla6/8
couldn't pull the dem teef outrodzilla7/8

I always think that - 'what the hell DID people suffer like before novocaine, and gas, even simple hydrocodone.. Got all 4 of my wisdom teeth, and they're not a problem.

    • I think people's premolars would rot/fall out and the wisdom teeth filled in.Mimio1/2

had mine out all at once - 5 months ago. the pills are awesome (i had percocet)! get as many refills as you can!! (oh and i had 10 wisdom teeth - wasn't as bad as i would have imagined, considering). the numbness in my lower lip went away after 3-4 months, now it's hyper-sensitive, but getting better (he said he was dangerously close to the nerve down there). Not a total nightmare as I had built it up to be for years of putting it off.

By the way, it is safe to have all 10 out at once? I guess it's easier than coming back and not eating solids all over again.Jaline7/13

I was allergic to the antibiotics, so all the dried-up blood from all the swallowing I did came out while I threw up during the entire week.

    • Hope no one was eating anything while reading this.Jaline1/5
I was eating a biscuit. Not anymore J, not anymore.ian2/5

there is a hole in my cheek where the gums and cheek meet that keeps letting the old blood seep out into my mouth. My breath has to smell like cow dung, god this is disgusting.

    • pack with gauze?bulletfactory1/2
wouldn't really help, its like the clot somehow dislodge a bit and is just letting is slowly seep outrodzilla2/2
