Throughout this presidential campaign I've been rather vocal to my girlfriend, in a somewhat joking way, about wanting to move somewhere else if McCain wins this election.

But it kind of got me thinking and curious about it- if you decided to move from the US for whatever reason related to politics, government, total dissatisfaction with the way things are done, etc., where would you move to?

What other countries do you consider "top destinations" for getting away from the potentially larger toilet we could be in within the next 8 years if some major things are not turned around here?

I fell in love with Germany/Austria area when I was over seas. I'd definitely consider Bavaria as a top destination in my considerations. Canada would be in there because I have relatives there and it's close to family in the states.

Keep em coming. One thing that got my thoughts up on this is that the company I work for is expanding quite a bit in the UK. There's always a chance for those kinds of opportunities down the road.

Just find a tiny town up in the mountains and sit it out, politics is only for the townies and their high-falutin' ways, find somewhere out of the way and live simpler.
