  I am looking for SLR camera (used one) between 200 and 300 euros. I would like to get one at the end of the year. Any suggestions? Canon/Nikon/Pentax?

  D40 is a cracking camera... easy to use I've had mine 6 months no complaints. I got the kit with the 18-55 lens and the 55-200, good enough for most situations.

  You could get the older D50 (they are now discontinued). The D40 does not have an AF motor unlike the D50 - which limits you on lenses, but I'm not sure how that will affect you?

  Thanks, but I wll stay with digital one. I am not looking for what is not so sophisticated and simple to use. For me nikon d40 would be fine, but don't know about canon eos 350d. I used to work with witd 300d and don't want that one. Looks like made from cheap plastic, is eos 350d better?

  how about D60? not been around that long but people might start off loading them to upgrade to new D90.
  D60 is like D40 but has slightly better features and handling. On the whole the Nikon DSLRs that aren't Pro have considerably better build quality and handling, Cannon DSLRs don't usually fit well in the average person's hand- god knows why!
