I'm going to get an inkjet printer for my home. I want to be able to print up to super a3. What brand should I get and what model?
I heard that Epson printers fuck up and that HP is pretty inexpensive and good quality. Is this true?

I've had a Canon Pixma for a couple of years, and it's been super-easy to maintain, and it actually prints nice. I've churned out all sorts of color comps. and Christmas/birthday cards, as well as B&W stuff.

What Pixma models do you use?

Cheap, shitty Epsons might be liable to fuck up - as are most cheap shitty versions from other brands.
Any half-decent printer should last you well enough.

Mine's an MP600. It's actually a printer and scanner too.

I've had the Epson 3800 recommended to me on more than one occasion - for making large prints to sell. Any experience with it?

I have a PIXMA ip4500, really fine dot (1pl). Only downside is it's not a postscript printer. I haven't had it very long but I have had some pretty good results with colour reproduction with my retouching and colour correction. Haven't printed any indesign documents through it yet but I have noticed that I am only able to select RGB profiles in the indesign print dialogue box... so I guess I will be printing to PDF, then outputting from Acrobat. Good printer for the price though, I picked it up for $138AU (includes a full set of inks which cost about $118AU... so with that in mind the printer costs $20!).
