It's my own site, with my portfolio and things. I'm aware the images are huge, I'll sort it soon. Just wondering what anyone might think about the design and layout.

I think it's all a mixed metaphor, with the slick, commercial looking bits along with the hand-drawn scraps of paper. They don't go together visually, or thematically.
- I thought maybe it made it more visually interesting, having something neat and clean with stuff stuck on it? Like... I don't know. :)GORADIO

Something isn't working for me..not sure what it is..the gradients on the posts..the background...the bold type for the content...some of the elements are good...

why isn't it compatible with IE6? i don't see anything complicated about the that couldn't easily be recreated in IE6.
the background is broken
the header is awful,
and like boobs said the composition is clashing. pick a style and go with it: scrap paper or web 2.0

It's on the left and the tiling doesn't work properly :'(

@7point34, if the site's meant to be web 2.0, then the colors should at least be brighter. The gradients right now make it look grey-ish, or washed out.

like... I don't mean to get all art-student on you, but don't you think it's a little crap to style a site after "web 2.0?"
I mean... it's a little like someone saying they don't like a band because they're not "Radiohead" enough, and they should try more to sound like Radiohead.
But thanks for the criticism nonetheless, it's useful :)

overall, i'd say things you did on the site don't really make much sense.
why is there a gameboy? what are you showing this for? if it isn't really connected to the site, it doesn't belong. the cutout pieces of paper don't really fit with the clean web2.0ish style...although i understand that it's the cool thing to do things by hand in a rough style, i don't feel like this is successful because it seems rushed. the about and contact links, if they are links, don't go anywhere. your copyright info is crammed in the bottom left corner and follows as you scroll, but is that necessary? the space to the left of the recent posts and work seems odd. pay attention to alignment of edges and shapes, think more about your color palette, and really just keep experimenting and watching what successful designers do and as why. i think it is common for younger designers to jump in and just start creating without a plan. i did it, still struggle with that mindset...but design fails its objective without having a well thought out goal, conceptually and visually. keep at it.
