i want to combine multiple (existing) blogs within one website. what's the best way to deal with it?
framesets? i thought of a topframe wich holds the navigation and open the blogs in an underlying frame
iframes? same as above but with an iframe
other? please fill in...

Define 'best'?
The two methods you've mentioned would probably be the 'easiest' to employ. Personally, if I had to do what you're asking, I'd recode the page how I wanted, pulling entries from both blog engines which would run concurrently off your database.
I'm guessing it'll run slow as fuck though.
Actually, I've assumed you're hosting the blog software?
