Just quickly thumbed through my copy which arrived this morning, probably the most comprehensive documentation of Herb Lubalin's work (except for that book that costs about £500) it's beautiful, I'm still shaking with giddy excitement, and as an added bonus it has a short piece on Alan Fletcher and Karl Gerstner

Idea's a great magazine - they did a whole story on the design of Uniqlo recently.

If you're into architecture, another amazing Japanese mag is a+u (crazy expensive - but a nice treat from time to time)

The Magma stores in London usually stock idea magazine. Excellent mag but I always forget about it.

I rang Magma first ian, they said they have just received stock of (Idea 328) the one before this issue, and that Idea 329 should be with them in 7—10 weeks, I have chased after the Lubalin Monograph but it is £300—£500 I having the Idea Crouwel special and it is so concise, and full of work, I had never seen before, so I figured this would be the nearest I'd get to owning a volume of his work! it has damn nearly blown my expectation it is chock full of his best work...
Avant Gade, U&lc, EROS, all his lovely editorial and beautiful logos, worth every penny, even though it cost me (£38 plus p&p) it would have been perhaps £5—10 cheaper if I'd have waited but I didn't want to risk missing out on it! so my advice is buy it whilst and where you can cause it will be gone very quickly!

    • Cool, cheers for the tip. I'll check it out later and see if theres any left for online order.ian
