Just started using final cut express. I was rendering my clips so i could see the output but now I cant get it to render.

Does anyone know what I should be looking for? So far the instruction book has been useless for support

Mind you, I don't know squat about A/V software, but: Could it be a memory/scratch disc issue? I know those programs are voracious with memory.

Not familiar with Express, but in Pro, in the "Sequence" menu there are submenus for "render all" "render selected", etc. In those menus, make sure most, if not all are checked

The clip you added my be using a different codec. It’s been a while for me and I was using FCP, but that rings a bell.

i'd try taking away the clip you dropped in right before the eirdness started and dropping another in in it's place and seeing if it renders. This way you can pin-point whether it's the new clip or the timeline or the program or whatever

    • Great. i'm just starting to feel useful and Mr100 swoops in with the save. FOILED AGAIN!locustsloth

I hope so. FCE is pretty vague on what it will and won’t allow you to do. I think it assumes that you are just dumping from your camcorder and editing. If you can handle the learning curve, Pro is teh balls.

    • Well im starting small but i see alot of after effect similarities. And ya-epete221/5
