Haven't updated my portfolio in ages, since school, seems to be an epidemic tho...
Obv the work makes the portfolio killer, but beyond that? Is it worth integrating a blog; twitter even? Flash/CSS? I'm not a fan of really going over the top conceptual on a portfolio, usually like her simple.
current: www.nedwright.com
thots?

Beautiful, beautiful work! I'm jealous!
Though I don't think it needs to be a Flash site :)

^ what they said. you´re right on track.

Most have my work has really scaled in size, its wierd displaying 5 or 6 *things* in this format.. thinking about it scrolling right or some such thing.
maybe?

I would not add a blog or twitter to your portfolio site, but to each his own.

I like it

i like how it is all on one screen right now, w/o scrolling. if you want to present a range/set of shots for each project, you could simply add some kind of subnavigation layer to each project. screen 1 2 3 4. voila.

keep it simple, nice

you could have someting close to moamoa site (one of my favorite), but with a white background?

work as full flash background.
it's so clever, I whish I had the idea 1st :)dyspl

Definetly like Moamoa's site.. It feels painfully slow sometimes tho... What did you guys think of the recent feature: http://www.newworkmag.com/ ?
- nice.
I like simple sites, focusing on works. the only problem is that you have to put strong works to achieve the effect, otherwise it's just weak :)dyspl
- nice.

Just screen printed it for my house.. I'm midwestern, and fascinated by deer.

work is superb, wish i was that good!

*Very* nice stuff there, dearhead. I wouldn't worry about having a Flash site (unless you want to fit the mold of trendy designore). Flash might be cool for putting your work into sequence (slide show). Blogs are fun, if you're into it. I have one on mine, but my site isn't really business oriented (although I have steered potential clients there).
- dearhead0
thx, yeah.. i feel like if i kept my twitter more business oriented I could get away with it...
i mean.. http://www.twitter.com/nedwright… - i usually just post design related shit anyway?

i love the font on your site, so going to html would make me sad because of that. lovely work though...may i ask what font that is?

I have seen some of the best interactive designers have simple static HTML sites whereas I have seen great graphic houses with amazingly-smart Flash. I think it's one of those lame 'go big or go small' things. Know what I mean?
As for my opinion, let your work speak for itself. Not a fan of Twitter stuff on portfolios, but again that's being pretty objective.

Don't bother with Flash, who can be arsed with it these days? You just wanna see the work in the fastest way possible and even simple Flash sites feel really clunky compared to HTML like your current portfolio, well designed but feels crappy because its Flash.
see also two examples of great work shit portfolio:
http://www.sarahtripp.com/ - could have been done in HTML and would feel better/work faster/less buggy
http://www.alextrochut.com/ - again could have been done in HTML and would have been faster/less shit feeling.http://konst-teknik.se/ - similar sort of site to those two but all done in HTML/JS, feels so much more responsive and satisfying to browse.

Nice work! Why change your site? It works like a site should and it's clean. The only thing is the site could have been done with CSS and HTML instead of Flash but that's all really.
