Thanks all! Hopefully things'll go smoothly. I just woke from the greatest evening nap ever :D
Kona, did you ever send that email? Didn't get anything...

Good luck sir. I'm rooting for you.

Tomorrow, I will complain in my inner dialogue about my monotonous job, and wish I had a set of balls to make the change. Hats off to you sir.
- 5timuli0
I don't really think balls had a lot to do with it, I'm still completely scared shitless! I'm not looking forward to unemployment again, but I worked out that if I stay here for another six months then I'll still be in the same position financially, if not worse. It just made the most sense to get the fuck out of here. Why extend the misery just to do the same thing in six months time?

Good Luck Stimuli!

It's true 5timuli.
I've been kicking my ass into trying to run our studio full time. I know that we can do it, it's just the initial zing, and then being responsible for my own paycheck that scares me.
- 5timuli0
Yeah it's a frightening thought. It always seems to me like everyone else has more confidence in you than you do yourself. Like you said, it's hard getting past that initial 'zing' that's the most difficult but so worth it when it's done.
I'm in a lucky position - I've never regretted any decision I've ever made, as it would mean I'd have missed everything in my life from that point to this. No idea if that makes sense or has much relevance but it makes me feel good.

good luck man, you do good work so it'll be alright...
But other than Chicago, those places you mentioned aren't very design-conscious are they? Don't think I've ever heard of a good studio located in St Louis...
