    I have an flv that is 28 mb can i compress this? I've tried some online software but the files came out corrupt. Is 28mb too big when using an flv player on the web.

    what i dont get is is 28mb too big?Using the flv player? Does it stream? What is the diff between stream and DL? My boss says 28mb is not a big deal becasue it streams.

    Use http://vixy.net/ to convert it to AVI, then just re-import into Flash and use Flash's built in encoder to compress.

    its not true streaming unless you're using Flash Media Streaming Server. It's a progressive download (ala 'cache as much as you for playback etc etc'). 28 megs is big but not that big.

    You can probably compress it a bit more depending on dimensions, audio quality, video quality, etc.
    If you've got the source video, ie; before it was converted to FLV it'd be better but you can always convert to MOV or AVI and then re-import into Flash (which isn't ideal as it's a bit like saving a jpeg a whole bunch of times on top of itself, but it'll get the job done).
